Terms of Service
Last updated: July 4, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Hokum app (the "app"), published by Everopen ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or play online with others. If you're under the age required by your country to consent to these Terms on your own, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
Accounts
Some features — online multiplayer, matchmaking, saved profiles and stats — require signing in with a third-party provider (such as Google or Apple). You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens under it. You can delete your account at any time from within the app or by contacting us; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
Acceptable use
Playing with real people means playing fairly and respectfully. When using multiplayer, voice chat, or any social feature in Hokum, you agree not to:
- Cheat, use bots, exploit bugs, or otherwise manipulate matches or matchmaking.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other players, including over voice chat.
- Use the app to transmit unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its backend services.
- Buy, sell, or trade accounts or in-app currency outside of the app's own purchase flow.
We may mute, suspend, or terminate access for any account that violates these Terms, at our discretion, including in response to reports from other players.
Voice chat
Voice chat with your partner or table is provided to make matches feel like playing in person. You're responsible for what you say. We may provide tools to mute or report abusive players, and may suspend voice or account access based on reports we receive.
Virtual currency and purchases
Hokum may offer a virtual, non-cashable in-app currency ("Chips") earned through play or purchased with real money through the App Store or Google Play. Chips have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts, or redeemed outside the app. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms and refund policies — we don't process payments or store your payment details ourselves. Hokum is not a real-money gambling product; nothing in the app can be wagered for or cashed out as real money.
Intellectual property
The app's software, design, artwork, and written content are owned by Everopen and protected by copyright. The underlying game — Hokm, also known as Hokum, Hukm, Court Piece, or Turuff — is a traditional game in the public domain and isn't owned by anyone. See our Copyright page for more.
Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times — particularly for online multiplayer features, which depend on network conditions and backend services outside your device.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Everopen isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, Chips, or account progress.
Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (like intellectual property and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
Changes to these Terms
As Hokum adds features — accounts, multiplayer, voice chat, purchases — we'll update these Terms to reflect them, and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
